Online e-cigarette promotion in Indonesia

Background: The decline in the global prevalence of cigarette smoking has prompted tobacco companies to expand their business by producing and marketing new nicotine-based products in various countries, including Indonesia. The study aims to assess e-cigarette promotional frequency and content on social media in Indonesia.
Methods: Monitoring was conducted on Instagram in October 2021. A total of 45 Instagram influencer accounts were monitored to assess the frequency of posting and interactions from 4 to 20 October for InstaStories and from 4 to 31 October for Instagram Feeds. Content analysis was carried out on 310 posts collected from 10 randomly selected accounts from 1 to 31 October (one post per account per day) to evaluate the form, type and characteristics of the promotions.
Results: There were a total of 2?897?327 followers across the 45 Instagram accounts. On average, the 45 accounts posted about 185 stories and 43 feed posts per day. Of the 310 feed posts analysed from 10 randomly selected accounts, 64% featured images of women; 50% highlighted or displayed the product; and 32% showed enjoyment of the product flavours.
Conclusions: The tobacco industry has successfully taken advantage of the e-cigarette promotion regulatory void. The Indonesian government needs to ban the promotion of these products, including those on online platforms.

Pengembangan Model Manajemen Pembelajaran Literasi Al-Qur’an
Menggunakan Metode Al-Heriyah Bagi Orang Dewasa

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan model manajemen pembelajaran literasi Al-Qur’an untuk dipergunakan dalam mendukung program pembelajaran Al-Qur’an untuk orang dewasa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lingkungan Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA, obyek penelitianya adalah karyawan UHAMKA. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan masih terdapat karyawan yang belum mampu membaca mapun menulis Al-Qur’an, yaitu 74 karyawan atau sekitar 47 % (katagori Pemula), dari jumlah 158 sampel. Hal ini disebabkan kurang aktif dalam mengikuti program pembelajaran Al-Qur’an. Disamping itu juga Sebagian karyawan merasa kesulitan dalam belajar Al-Qur’an,.baik terkendala dengan waktu ataupun metodenya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah tersusunya model manajemen pembelajaran yang efektif, mudah dan menyenangkan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode research and development (R&D) istilah yang digunakan oleh Brog and Gall, yaitu ada tujuh tahapan, pertama pengenalan hururf-huruf hijaiyah, kedua tanda baca putus, ketiga tanda baca ganda atau imbuhan, keempat tanda baca sambung, kelima tanda baca panjang, keenam hukum mad dan ketujuh hukum tanwin dan sukun, tanda waqaf dan fawatihusuwaar. Teknik pengembangan desain pembelajaranya menggunakan model ADDIE ( analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, tes, observasi, angket (validasi ahli) yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Teknik analisi data menggunakan Analisis Deskriptif. Data-data yang diperoleh dari beberapa teknik pengumpula data dan instrument yang telah ditentukan dapat dikelompokkan menjadi dua yaitu data yang bersifat kualitatif dan data yang bersifat kuantitatif.
Hasil penelitian pengembangan manajemen pembelajaran untuk orang dewasa yang telah diuji dilapngan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi Al-Qur’an, yaitu pada saat diimplementasikan kepada 50 karyawan UHAMKA dengan hasil sebagai berikut: sebanayak 5 karyawan (10%) dapat melafalkan huruf hijaiyah dan dapat melafalkan kosa kata, 27 karyawan (73%) dapat merangkai harakat pada kata, hukum panjang-pendek, hukum nun sukun dan tanwin, 7 karyawan (17%) memahami ilmu Tajwid, faseh, dan lancar, serta Waqaf dan ibtida, dan 33 karyawan (63%) mampu menulis huruf-huruf
hijaiyah serta 17 karyawan (27%) mampu menulism menyambung kosa kata, dan imla.

The evaluation of lecturer’s improvement programs through academic culture and services

This study evaluated the program to improve postgraduate lecturers’ performance at Muhammadiyah University Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA). This study used a mixed-method sequential explanatory design. The primary data were collected using questionnaires for lecturers, study program coordinators, and students. The primary data were presented by observations and interviews with the Director of UHAMKA Postgraduate. The data analysis was carried out using differential statistics to support the interview and documentation results. The most prominent result was the Institute’s concern for the lecturer problem, with the respondents’ answers showing strong concern (13%), concern (45.7%), and immediate concern (41.3%). The Institute’s concern for lecturer problems was not high. Therefore, it needs to be increased. This study implied the need to conduct a follow-up program by motivating lecturers without functional positions to be immediately concerned and collect the required documents.
