Arginase (L-arginine ureahydrolase) adalah enzim yang berperan dalam siklus
urea. Arginase juga memainkan peran penting dalam produksi nitrat oksida (NO).
Gangguan keseimbangan NO merupakan kontributor terjadinya gangguan fungsi
endotel pembuluh darah. Senyawa fenol dan flavonoid diketahui mempunyai
aktivitas penghambatan arginase. Genus Sterculia kaya dengan senyawa fenol dan
flavonoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan senyawa dari tanaman genus
Sterculia yang mempunyai aktivitas penghambatan arginase. Penelitian diawali
dengan skrining dari 5 tanaman genus Sterculia yaitu: S. macrophylla, S. comosa,
S.parkinsonii, S.rubiginosa, S.stipulata. Bagian yang digunakan adalah daun dan
kayu. Ekstrak diuji aktivitas inhibitor enzim arginase dan antioksidan dengan
metode DPPH dan FRAP. Ekstrak yang aktif adalah ekstrak metanol kayu Sterculia
comosa dan ekstrak metanol kayu Sterculia macrophylla. Ekstrak aktif dipisahkan
dengan kromatografi kolom vakum menjadi fraksi. Tiap fraksi di uji aktivitas
inhibitor enzim arginase dan antioksidan dengan metode FRAP dan DPPH. Fraksi
dilanjutkan diisolasi menggunakan kromatografi kolom dan Kromatografi Lapis
Tipis Preparatif sampai didapatkan isolat. Hasil isolat diidentifikasi dengan FTIR,
1H-NMR,13C-NMR, HSQC, HMQC, HMBC, LCMSMS. Sterculia comosa (kayu
comosa/KC) didapatkan isolat KC4.4.6 asam (-)-2-(E)-kafeoil-D-gliserat, dan
KC4.4.5.1 adalah asam trans-isoferulat, yang merupakan turunan sinamat. Sterculia
macrophylla (kayu macrophylla/KM) diperoleh senyawa senyawa KM3.9.1
merupakan 3β-5α,6α-epoksi-3-hidroksi-7-megastigmen-9-on. Senyawa KM3.5.M
merupakan asam pikolinat, dan Senyawa KM-1 merupakan campuran β-sitosterol
dan stigmasterol. Hasil uji aktivitas inhibitor enzim arginase diperoleh nilai IC50
untuk isolat KM3.9.1: 59,31µg/ml, KM3.5.M: 73,98 µg/ml, KC4.4.6: 98,03 µg/ml,
KC4.4.5.1: 292,58 µg/ml, dan KM1: 140,56 µg/ml, kontrol positif nor-NOHA:
3,97 µg/ml. Aktivitas antioksidan metode DPPH didapatkan nilai IC50 isolat
KM3.9.1:92,60 µg/ml, KM3.5.M: 106,42 µg/ml, KC4.4.6: 48,77 µg/ml, KC4.4.5.1:
88,08 µg/ml dan KM1: 185,09 µg/ml, kontrol positif kuersetin: 5,63 µg/ml.
Aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode FRAP KM3.9.1: 10,76 FeEAC (Mol/g),
KM3.5.M: 5,79 FeEAC (Mol/g), KC4.4.6: 16,40 FeEAC (Mol/g), KC4.4.5.1: 15,79
FeEAC (Mol/g) KM-1: 11,89 FeEAC (Mol/g), kontrol positif kuersetin: 1201,61
FeEAC (Mol/g). Isolat KM3.9.1 (3β-5α,6α-epoksi-3-hidroksi-7-megastigmen-9-
on) merupakan senyawa yang mempunyai aktivitas sebagai inhibitor enzim yang
paling baik, sedangkan aktivitas antioksidan yang paling baik adalah isolat
KC4.4.6/asam (-)-2-(E)-kafeoil-D-gliserat.

This paper describes the design and analysis of protection schemes that it is not regular customers’ location in optical communication system network. Distance and number of customers with the design of optical point protection unit achievements are recognized as the user for a series of rings from CAPU-Ring 1 (Customer Access Protection Unit). CAPU-Ring 1 is made as a safety point of optics that will be placed on the prior user. This system is an optical spot that will be placed in a ring circuit for use in placement of clients scattered. Proposed construction of a series with a protection channel architecture is about designing CAPU-Ring 1 as optical nodes, condition and repair damage to the circuit, the power budget calculations, design in the simulation, and analysis of the node to node. Parameters outlined in this discussion are the relationship of each node optical output power, improving the system of the eye diagram to the distance and also increase the system working against the maximum optical node. Characterization of ring network protection architecture can be identified from the results of a simulation study.

Design and Simulation of MEMS Electrostatic Resonator for Ammonia Gas Detection Based on SOIMUMPs

The analytical modeling, design, and simulation of micromachined MEMS resonator for ammonia gas detection
is presented in this paper. The MEMS resonator is designed to be vibrated electrostatically using interdigitated comb fingers. The demonstrated device is designed to be capable to carry micro-ring resonator and vibrated in-plane laterally to enhance the sensitivity of the gas detection. This MEMS resonator working principle is based on the changes in the output signal wavelength due to the change in the effective refractive index introduced by the ammonia gas. The resonant frequency of the actuator and the pull-in voltage have been calculated theoretically and found to be 11.15 kHz and 79.7 V respectively. The design and simulation of the micromachined microresonator has been carried out using CoventorWare software. Furthermore, the mathematically modeled results were verified using the finite element analysis software and the result shows a good agreement within 1.06% error between the modeled and simulated frequencies where the modeled and the simulated frequencies are found to be 11.15 kHz and 11.27 kHz respectively.

This paper describes 2-D modes analysis on the waveguide structure. Micro – Ring Resonator formation was simulated to able the chemical vapor detection by using COMSOL Multiphysics application. We present the simulation of mode analysis from a Micro-ring Resonator as sensing the chemical vapor. By implementing the device parameters. We have seen from the simulator that the optical mode is handled equally within the ring. Using the variation of effective refractive index, our simulator result of ring resonator generated the mode analysis in two-dimension perspective. We conclude that the ring resonator device has potential for generating the certain wavelength.
